L’année de Transition, C’est Moi!
22 May 2024If anyone should be allowed some royal hubris, it is Gav Maguire. For five years he has ruled Transition Year… with a velvet glove, only matching the more authoritarian Louis XIV in girth, the love of pastry and the possession of two fine calf muscles. For Gav is a kind master, one who built unbreakable bonds with his charges through hard work, real love and the occasional grumpy outburst. And this year, his swansong, he went even further and higher, becoming the veritable Sun King of TY Co-Ordinators. The student-produced slideshow below will give you a taste of the breadth and depth of the activities over which Gav and his loyal robin, Sean Ingle, presided but really all you have to do is sit down for a full viewing of the grand finale of Transition Year, the musical ‘Game of Tiaras’ (also, below), to see the quality of programme on offer at St. Conleth’s. Gav and Sean, of course, had an incredible triumvirate of partners on the musical: Seamus Gallagher, Sinead Fay and Simon Toal. Together, they produced the best TY musical ever, capping the reign of the best TY Co-Ordinator, ever!
