Junior Jumble!
21 March 2024We have been ‘X-ing’ away about our Junior brethren’s many accomplishments and hijinks, but we thought we would bring some of it together in a nice tidy slider! Afterschool and Morning Club Czarina Cecilia Franken (who else?) starts us off with her Chinese New Year Celebrations and relentless (necessarily) Green School ‘encouragement’. Then we have the morning that the PJs were left on, and worn to school, for World Book Day and everyone had a story to tell… and listen to! And we best not forget our young knights of the realm: our Junior School Chess Champions of 2024! Jamie Dunne narrowly, and thrillingly, edged out Alex Mortell in a fantastic final, with all eyes on them. In celebration of Seachtain na Gaeilge, we welcomed the author of ‘Teach Teidí’, Sadhbh Rosenstock, who shared her stories with Prep School students and Múinteoir Sheridan (noted Gaeilgeoir) put 2nd-6th Forms through their annual Tráth na gCeist! Senior School Guidance Counsellor ‘Flash’ Gordon Weldon spear-headed an introduction to our ‘House System’ and Junior Sport Head Honcho Louis Magee gave a term end sporting report: Fifth Form took part in the Fr. Gavin Rugby Blitz in Willow, doing us proud, winning 4 of 6! And Jr. Hockey won 1, drew 1 and lost 1 in Dundalk! A great year by all and thank you to all the coaches who put in a huge effort with our students!
