Squires, Arise!
4 March 2025You know you are teaching in a good school when your biggest problem, when on lunch duty patrol, is breaking up illicit chess games in restricted areas of the campus… Well Yubo Wang, Zach Waldron, Joe Kelleher and our other Senior School Knights will soon have some serious competition on the grid as the chess talent in the Junior School is developing quickly! Last Friday saw the culmination of the Junior School Chess Competition as Thomas Brennan and Cathal McGovern battled it out in the Grand Final. Both boys eliminated several members of Fifth and Sixth Form en route to the final. Not bad for a couple of Fourth Formers! Thomas was the eventual winner of a gripping final. Both boys were joined by Alex Mortell (5th) and Alan McGovern (6th) at the AIJS tournament in Rathgar Junior School. Results to follow! ♟️
