“Mommmm! The Boys are Making…”
3 September 2025Candace would be shouting about these two, too! All of us boomer St. Conleth’s teachers have fond memories of alumni brothers, Kyrill (2012) and Artyom Zorin (2013): they were the Wozniak and Jobs of their time when they graced the halls of 28 Clyde Road, winning the Technology Section of the Young Scientist competition and repeatedly amazing their teachers and classmates with their rare combination of technological genius, common sense and honest enthusiasm. The brothers were like Phineas and Ferb, with Mr. Callaghan serving as their inspirational (but not confrontational) Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Their old school project, Zorin OS, is now a global project and recently their tried-and-tested OS received this glowing review from The Irish Times:
I’ve tried many popular versions of Linux over the years but, despite my efforts and ample goodwill, found the operating system more interesting for tinkering with than as a real option for day-to-day use. Even with all the online help forum, none of the most popular versions of Linux for beginners ever worked for me. But Zorin OS ticks every box in terms of design, functionality and speed. It’s a seamless experience from start to finish, packed with small, thoughtful touches that can make a big difference.

We look forward to hearing more about the non-exploitive exploits of these twin tech titans!
