Ethos in Action!*
14 April 2025(*With new photos!) Since his arrival at St. Conleth’s, Mr. Lonergan has worked tirelessly to reinvigorate our Christian ethos, while simultaneously (no contradiction, there!) engaging and encouraging our students to improve their own spiritual and physical wellbeing and that of others. The ‘Ember Team’, a group of Fifth Year volunteers interested in putting their faith into action, raised more than €2000 through a raffle for Mary’s Meals, a most worthy cause. And then, while the rest of us were running from Tesco to Dunnes in search of the best Easter egg deals, he led a group of those Ember students (and others) on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. The itinerary included Mass, the rosary and visits to the Blue Cross and the grave of Fr. Slavko Barbaric, as well as an ascent of Mt. Krizevac. As you can see from the photos below, the faith-based activities also included a lot of fun. And there were special celebrations by, and for, a certain William Harrington, who made his First Confession on Thursday and First Holy Communion, yesterday. Welcome aboard, William. (William is wearing the tie!)
