JCT’s Cup Thriller!
16 October 2024Mr. Morris’s Mighty Minions are making quite a name for themselves! In their first round Leinster Cup match against the supposedly bigger and brawnier Benildus, they played tough, they played smart, and they held their nerve when when the game was on the line, emerging 40-36 victors in a thrilling contest that will now enter the Conlethian annals of all-time athletic triumphs. In addition to Mr. Morris’s motivational nous and attack vectors there was also our new coach, Mr. Cavallero, prowling the sidelines, giving the youngsters strategic advice and warm support. It was a real team effort, and it is difficult to single out particular, but Captain John Connellan certainly did the school and his family’s rugby tradition proud. Christopher Comer continued his dominant play all over the pitch and Sean Keane imported his talent and tenacity from the basketball court. Our Second Years also stepped up big time, particularly a new Conlethian, Max Cooper-Reid, who drove the Benildus defenders nuts with his frenetic energy, just as he does the break-time yard supervising teachers! Well done JCT. We look forward to the next round!
