Alumni Who Lunch
19 September 2024In 2020, Past Past Pupils Union Presidents Donal Milmo-Penny and John Carvill organised the first ever St. Conleth’s Business Lunch and it was a smashing success, with close to 100 attendees at the Lansdowne FC. The featured speaker was Past Parent and entrepreneur Brody Sweeney and, by all accounts, his talk was as entertaining as it was enlightening, with Brody displaying both the confidence and humility, the ambition and realism which have enabled him to climb to the top of the Irish business world… twice! The Conlethians and friends who were gathered had a blast, with a bit of networking, perhaps, but only as a side dish to the main courses of friendship, reminiscence and shared interests.
In 2023, we followed up with another rendition, this time with Guest Speaker Oonagh O’Hagan, owner and Managing Director of the Meagher’s Pharmacy group, and, on this October 18th, we will have the eminently accomplished engineer, Dame Dervilla Mitchell CBE (Class of 1976), regal her fellow alumni and the great and the good of the St. Conleth’s business community: this is certainly not just ‘lads who lunch’! This year’s event sold out very quickly but enquiries can still be made to avail of places arising due to late cancellations.
