Game, Set and Match!
31 May 2024Junior School Head of Sport Louis Magee has earned his summer break after leading his enthusiastic and talented minions through a great variety of sports, activities and competitions. Just in the last few weeks, we have seen the Juniors compete and win at football, golf and tennis.
The Junior School Football Team played St. Gerard’s in a friendly and it was a traditional 16-goal thriller! The score was similar to some rugby matches this season, drawing 8-8 in a fantastic game. Well done to Mr. Nolan (Jurgen Klopp) and Mr. Sheridan (David Moyes).
The Juniors also took part in an AIJS golf event, hosted by St. Gerard’s. Our boys finished third, which is a brilliant achievement. A big thank you to Mark McGowan (Jack McGowan’s dad) for giving lifts. Jack is a “chip” off the old block!
And there was some great tennis on show last week with Fifth Form serving up the best tennis of the day. That’s game, set and match for Junior Sports this year. Well done to Louis Magee and all the Junior School athletes!
