9 April 2023“The guidance and counselling process aims to help students to develop an awareness and acceptance of their talents and abilities; to explore possibilities and opportunities; to grow in independence and to take responsibility for themselves; to make informed choices about their lives and to follow through on those choices”.
Gordon Weldon, the Guidance Counsellor at St. Conleth’s, more than fulfills the above departmental objective by providing comprehensive and personalised career and educational advice to students and arranging a full schedule of activities, from standardized testing and analysis through professionally-delivered Study Skills Seminars and carefully selected career and course research and presentations. But it is not all about ‘points’ at St. Conleth’s, as Mr. Weldon also spearheads our Wellbeing efforts: the care and welfare of pupils at St. Conleth’s is of fundamental importance and Gordon’s door is always open for professional, confidential advice and support.
