13 March 2025Yes, tomorrow, is Pi Day! (3/14 in the American calendar) At the Irish Maths Teachers Association Regional Pi Quiz 2025 in Wesley College, our Third Year team narrowly missed out on the tie-breaker round for first place by just one point, having scored a very commendable 15 out of 20 points! Perhaps the team of Anna Sweeney, Valentina Kehoe, Rory Carroll and Aneesh Garg were inspired by the example set by the Sixth Year Team of Yubo Wang, Joe Kelleher, James Power and Henry Turner, who qualified for IMTA National Finals, for the first time, ever! Well done to both teams and their Maths teachers. And when asked for their favourite ‘Pi joke’ the teams settled on this one:
