No Pardon for Maynooth: SCT Rolls to Semifinal Win 44-8

With Castleknock College, lucky victors in Donnybrook a few weeks ago, now steaming on to the Vinnie Murray Final, the SCT would have been forgiven for being distracted by the rueing of a narrowly missed opportunity, but both Coach Gav and the boys themselves have put too much into this team to let one bounce of a ball derail them.   Drawing on the resilience which is a hallmark of this tight-knit group, they girded their loins and got back to work.  Travelling to the very edge of the Pale in darkest Kildare, the SCT were all business as they dispatched Maynooth 44- 8 and now move on to the McMullen Cup Final against Enniscorthy.  The usual suspects were manhandling the opposition all over the pitch, with Nicolas Foreau and Brendan Connor with a brace  of tries each and Pogie and Colin Duffy both also going over the line.  Matt Remi was his usual beastly self on both sides of the ball but the game ball itself must go to Michael McKay who was simply a different class on the day, with scintillating runs and two memorable tries.  The big crowd of students, parents and alumni were treated to a consummate victory and we all look forward in anticipation to another big match in Donnybrook.
