18 October 2023Our Mighty Mike of fencing continues to carve his way through the Irish fencing landscape! Last weekend, First Year Michael Davitt competed in the Fencing Ireland “West” Senior Open in Galway (yes, ‘Senior’ as in grown men!) and he scored 6 victories out of 12 pool matches, proceeding directly into the elimination stages, finishing a in a remarkable 12th place, overall! That’s quite an accomplishment for our Michael/David, especially considering the gap in age, size and experience! And the season is just starting: Michael is competing in two more tournaments next weekend in the Sports Ireland Sports Arena; the Irish Senior Open on Saturday and the Irish U-14 Open, on Sunday.
